Did The War of 1812 Really “Make” Canada?

There’s been a lot of time and money spent by Ottawa and the Harper government (trademark) this year to convince you that the War of 1812 is the most relevant thing to Canadian national identity since maple syrup and social unrest. But did this 200-year-old war actually make Canada into a country? I did a little digging and decided to give you my breakdown of the War of 1812 in 7 minutes… go!
