Abstract: Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing humanity. Along with other environmental changes brought about by global population and economic growth, it will put increasing strain on our health systems. Vulnerabilities include the rising probability of extreme weather events, of changes to food and water security and to the distribution of vector-borne diseases, and rising sea levels. Environmental health expert, Dr. Carlos Corvalán will reveal how climate change is already impacting on people around the world, how the international public health sector is addressing the problem, and what action is needed to protect our health into the future.
