Talk Title: “Chasing Down Passion”

Topic: I was once told that nothing in the world has been done without passion. My dictionary says it’s “an intense desire or enthusiasm for something,” and it is this very desire that fascinates me. I’m eager to ask questions like, “How and why can he/she be so passionate about ______?” “What part of this human brain of mine shakes my bones and my heart and tells me that _______ is what I’m passionate about?” and “What can passion do to me, exactly?”
To me, passion is a mysterious thing. It’s like the Snitch in Quidditch – it zooms here and there, flutters (and makes your heart flutter) a bjillion times per millisecond, and everyone’s trying to get a hold of it even if it seems impossible. It’s something that I’ve been trying to figure out for the past few years by putting it with action and being with passionate people who have passions that are infectious and truly out of this world.
For me, a passion is something that changes who I am. It makes my heart beat – fast. It is something that I can’t simply walk out of and forget about even if I try really, really hard (and I have). A passion is something that I chase after and dig through with reckless abandon…and the deeper I dig, the more alive I am.
