The UBC Global Fund – Now Accepting Applications!

The Office of the Vice-President, Students and the Simon K.Y. Lee Global Lounge recently announced the launch of The UBC Global Fund, an initiative that is sure to be of interest to some Terry Readers. Below is a description of the initiative:

The UBC Global Fund provides small grants (typically up to $2,000) to currently enrolled UBC V students to fund student-led initiatives, projects or events that focus on international engagement, intercultural understanding, sustainability and collaboration and have a connection with the Simon K.Y. Lee Global Lounge & Resource Centre (Global Lounge).

The Global Fund supports the UBC Strategic Plan, Place and Promise, by fostering global citizenship through the pillars of International Engagement and Intercultural Understanding.  The Fund seeks to enrich student learning and engagement outside the classroom by encouraging student led initiatives which will enhance our campus culture of global awareness, sensitivity and involvement.

Applications are due on the third Monday of every month (the first two being November 15, December 20th, 2010).   Applications may be accepted between deadlines in special situations; contact jolanta.lekich@ubc.ca if the situation is urgent.
