In Conversation with Adrienne Clarkson: March 31st, 12noon at the Chan

Join us in welcoming former Governor-General, The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, to UBC as she sits down with host, Irfhan Rawji, BCOM’00, to engage in an enlightening discussion about her life experiences; her new book, Extraordinary Canadians: Norman Bethune; and the importance of being an engaged global citizen.

Born in Hong Kong, Madame Clarkson came to Canada in 1941 as a refugee. She served as Canada’s 26th Governor-General from 1999 to 2005, following a successful career as a CBC journalist. She is credited with reinvigorating the office of the Governor-General, infusing the role with her unique sense of style, panache, humour and compassion.

After answering questions from the audience, Madame Clarkson will participate in a brief book signing session in the Chan Centre’s Glass Lobby. Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to interact with this remarkable Canadian during her special campus appearance.
