yaris co2 advertisement

Has anyone else noticed these Yaris ads busing around Vancouver?  This morning, I saw them plastered across two consecutive buses headed North on Burrard.

Yes – carbon dioxide is composed of one carbon and two oxygen atoms – not a squared oxygen atom (i.e. the 2 should be subscripted).

I can’t think of any good reason to have represented CO2 as they have – any ideas?
